David Diebold @ ChinaValue.Net: It was really a great honor to fly to Washington to represent Li Huai and his magnificent Yanda International Health City now nearing completion on the east side of Beijing, at the recent flag raising ceremony in front of the White House in Washington, D.C., marking the 60^th Anniversary of the People’s Republic. It was such a picture-perfect day. The huge number of people attending and the traditional dragon dancing, demonstrations of martial arts, singing of Chinese songs, and other performances by the local Chinese-American community created such a festive and happy air.

When the American and Chinese flags were finally raised by representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Washington, to the music of our respective national anthems, you could sense the pride that everyone felt, whether Chinese or American, in being part of such a special, historic celebration of the Chinese-American relationship. My own favorite moment was joining China’s Ambassador to the US, Zhou Wenzhong and other notable guests in holding up a large Chinese flag before the crowd, just after the two flags had been officially raised. What a happy day – happy anniversary China!

　　随着中国国歌和美国国歌的音乐声响起，中国国旗和美国国旗最终由中国使馆的代表在华盛顿升起，此刻，无论是中国人还是美国人，都感到无比骄傲。在这样一个特殊的时刻，历史性的庆祝活动体现了中美两国友好的关系。我最兴奋的时刻，是和中国驻美大使周文重以及其它客人一起举起一面巨大的中国国旗，看着它冉冉升起，感到非常高兴，多么快乐的日子。祝中华人民共和国华诞快乐！
